David founded Haven Green in 2018 after 10 years at First Avenue, a global placement agent, where he co-headed international distribution, led European sales, and covered global consultant and key institutional relationships. David began his career with 10 years as an investment consultant at Mercer, where he qualified as an actuary. A five-year foundational stint in internet services followed, during which time he created and listed an early social content company. On returning to investment advisory, David became global head of manager research at Aon Consulting, before a period advising S&P on institutional manager research and sponsor covenant services ahead of setting up Valiance, a boutique pensions de-risking and capital advisory firm.
David has over 20 years’ experience in manager research and institutional multi-manager portfolio management, having spent the early part of his career conducting fundamental research on technology, media and telecoms companies. David was, most recently, the PM on six multi-manager funds at BMO Global Asset Management, where he managed around $5 billion across active European equities, emerging markets equities, emerging market debt, and passive US and Asia-Pacific equities. Previously, David held senior manager research and investment analyst roles at Aon Consulting, Capel Cure Sharp and Hermes Investment Management.
Stephan has more than 30 years’ experience of researching and advising pension plans on private equity investment and GP/fund of funds selection. As founder of City Capital Partners in 2005, the firm advised on private equity allocations of over $3 billion. Prior to founding City Capital Partners, Stephan was a partner at Watson Wyatt (now Willis Towers Watson), where he built the alternatives research and headed the private equity research team. Whilst at Watson Wyatt, Stephan advised a range of global pension plans on investment issues, including manager structures and strategy, investment manager selection, manager monitoring, and general investment consulting.
Wendy oversees strategy, governance and standards at Haven Green and chairs the Advisory Board. With over 30 years of asset management experience, Wendy served as chief investment officer and consultant at Liverpool Victoria (LV=) from 2012 to 2015, chief investment officer at the Unilever pension scheme from 1995 to 2011, and trustee and investment chair of the Mineworkers' Pension Scheme from 2006 to 2009. Wendy has also held an impressive number of senior independent and non-executive director positions at firms such as Aberdeen Asset Management, Quilter Investors, Fidelity Life Insurance and Phoenix Group Holdings.
TJ (Toby) Raymond
Toby has 30 years’ experience in all aspects of the capital markets. In his role as Partner at Access Equity Management Ltd, Toby has formal regulatory oversight for the Haven Green operations. Specifically, on international or direct equity distribution and advisory mandates, Toby provides further formal challenge and risk assessment alongside the operational team and Chair of the Advisory Board. He holds an MBA in Finance from UCLA, a JD from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and is a member of the New York and California Bar Associations.
Ed brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Advisory Board. His previous appointments have included Partner and Head of Funds at financial and professional services firm Smith & Williamson, and Head of Eden Asset Management. Ed founded Eden in 2011 following a 20-year career with M&G Investment Management, where he was Chief Executive Equities and M&G Board Director. Ed is a Partner at DMC Capital Partners, a London-based boutique asset manager and capital provider.
Peter was involved in the foundation of Pension Insurance Corporation, a leading UK Life Insurer and was a co-founder of Celtic Utilities Limited and Greenstar Limited. A qualified lawyer, with an MBA from University of Michigan, he is an experienced corporate finance adviser having spent his early career at Williams Holdings plc. Peter has been involved in private and public markets across a range of sectors (regulated financial, infrastructure, farmland, support services, etc). and currently advises a large European office focused on real estate and private equity.
